Dark Energy and Matter and the Universe

Dark energy and Dark matter make up about %85 of the universe.
Is matter as we know it the exception instead of the rule? Is our universe(as we know it) a cosmic mutation? are we the Duck-Billed-Platipuses of existence?

how does dark energy and matter re-write the Big-Bang theory?

I tend to think the big bang is more like this iteration of a cosmic bouncy ball that expands and spins out, then after it loses momentum, it falls in on itself and the whole thing starts over.
